If you get a booklet about
building a wind turbine it take you though the same steps as our booklet
however our booklet WILL provide more energy. Building a real
wind turbine to actually generate some usable energy you will
end up spending much more than you could ever imagine at
the start. The items which are
not mentioned are the items that should be mentioned. The batteries you will
need to store the generated energy will cost as much as a $1000.00 (US) if
you use quality batteries. Then there is the cost of the tower to
support the generator. Unless you have one already for use. A reasonable
tower will cost $1000.00 (US) Then their is the rectifier. Some manuals
provide information so you can build your own. I have yet to see one that
worked well after it was built. So if you buy on you have another cost of
$1000,00 (US) So lets add up the dollars... that simple little generator
will cost you nearly $4000.00 (US). Then if you place a value of
twenty dollars per hour on you time you will end up over $5000.00 (US).
Should you start
in to build a need a number of tools as
well as a machine shop that will work with you. You will need to determine how much room
you have and where you will locate the turbine. Keep in mind you want to get at least 20
feet above the surrounding terrain and buildings. Our
first pole tower was place on top of our garage and when 40 feet up. We used
guide wires attach to each corner of the garage. Many people will
suggest that you do not place a wind turbine on your roof. They talk about
the vortex air currents and how they will cause difficulties with the
turbine. This can be true how as many roof top
stress load on many roof tops is more than they can handle.
You can get around that with a pole set next to the house
and using guide wires or using a mounting plate on your roof so the weight
